In my last post, with my travels to Venice, I mentioned the fact that the island is sinking.
I just heard a very descriptive podcast on National Public Radio that gives you a grim look at the disappearing city.
My heart is heavy for the Venetian people and all the architecture, art and history that is being damaged.
Past dredging of the canals, along with tidal change have expedited this flooding situation.
The public works system in Venice is not providing the necessary funds and resources to save this city, so volunteers and private entities are trying to help. Hopefully, change is coming.

It’s so sad…
I know! I have been there twice without any flooding. I can’t imagine the cost and loss. Thanks so much for following me, I really appreciate the support.
I appreciate your support too!!! It’s so heartbreaking to see….
